Fabulous Performances at our Final Monologue Monday of the Year

Monologue Mondays

Our Drama Studio came alive this week for a spectacular Monologue Monday, the last of of this academic year!

Led by our Lower 6 Drama Captains, the evening featured an exciting and varied programme of monologues and duologues, with performances spanning everything from Shakespearean classics to modern favourites such as The Worst Witch. Pupils embraced a wide range of characters and styles, demonstrating both versatility and impressive stage presence in front of a packed and enthusiastic audience.

One of the standout moments of the evening was a powerful and emotionally charged performance of Lady Anne from Richard III by Drama Scholar Katie, whose commanding delivery captivated the audience and showcased exceptional dramatic skill. Throughout the evening, students performed with confidence, energy and commitment, bringing humour, tension and emotion to the studio stage.

Monologue Monday has become a much-loved event within the Drama calendar, providing pupils with a valuable opportunity to develop their performance skills in an intimate and supportive environment. The sessions encourage self-expression, creativity and resilience, while helping students build confidence both on and off the stage.

Congratulations to every student who performed and to the Drama Captains for organising such a memorable evening to close the year’s series of performances.

Drama at LEH

At LEH we’re serious about drama. Whether touring original productions to local primary schools, staging a West End musical with Hampton School as part of our Hampton School Partnership, or running a show from behind the scenes, we offer every pupil the chance to perform, create and take part.

Recent productions have included an award-winning production of 42nd Street with Hampton School, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as original plays developed through our Write the Girl initiative. This year we have been nominated for two National School Theatre Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Production for our Sixth Form play, DNA.
