What You’ll Discover at LEH Junior School

Exceptional academic outcomes for highly capable girls — without the pressure of the 11+

Welcome to LEH Junior School, an independent junior school in Hampton, within easy reach of families across south west London, Surrey and Berkshire, a place where curiosity, creativity, and confidence thrive in equal measure. Here, girls are encouraged to ask questions, explore their passions, and embrace every opportunity with open hearts and bold minds.

We are proud to be a happy, inclusive community where every girl is valued for who she is. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage or beyond, LEH Junior pupils are supported to grow as learners and individuals in an environment full of possibility.

Your daughter’s LEH journey begins here: a Junior School not a preparatory or prep school as we believe that children thrive when exploring subjects, rather than just preparing for 11 Plus examinations. Here there is no examination to interrupt the adventure. Instead, she will move seamlessly through to the Senior School, learning and thriving across our beautiful 24-acre campus, shared by both schools.

Each morning our shared coach network brings girls to school from across Surrey and south west London, from Esher and Thames Ditton, Kingston and Richmond, Ascot and Windsor and everywhere in between.

We believe that education is about more than academic achievement – it’s about nurturing confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. Our inspiring curriculum and extensive co-curricular programme are designed to spark imagination, develop independence, and celebrate originality. Whether it’s experimenting in the Science lab, creating in the Art and DT studio, exploring a musical instrument, or leading a sustainability initiative, there’s always something exciting around the corner.

With leadership responsibilities across year groups, we help our pupils develop their social awareness and provide opportunities for everyone to contribute to their school and community. Through our Pupil Peer Mentors, Big Sister Buddies, School Council and Eco Squad, our pupils bring our school values to life through their thoughtful acts of kindness and compassion.

We’re passionate about protecting the world our girls will inherit. As a proud Green Flag Eco School, we are deeply committed to environmental responsibility and sustainability. Our pupils play a leading role in helping us achieve and maintain this prestigious status – from energy-saving projects and biodiversity drives to waste reduction and eco-campaigns. These real-world initiatives instil a sense of purpose, community, and climate-conscious leadership from an early age.

At LEH Junior School, learning is full of joy, challenge and discovery. Supported by our talented and caring staff, every girl is encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and flourish – personally and academically.

We can’t wait to welcome your family to our vibrant community, where bold beginnings truly start.

Welcome to LEH Junior School

It is a great privilege to welcome you and your family to LEH Junior School. Childhood is a precious time of discovery, and here we are passionate about providing an education that inspires, challenges and nurtures in equal measure.

Our pupils benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum that places academic excellence at its heart while also encouraging creativity, curiosity and resilience. From science to sport, literature to the arts, our girls are given opportunities to explore and develop a genuine love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Equally important to us are the values that underpin all we do. Kindness, respect and responsibility, courage, honesty and encouraging and lifting those around us shape the way our community works together, helping children to grow not only as learners but as considerate and confident young people. In our vibrant and inclusive environment, every child is known, valued and celebrated for their individuality.

We are proud of our strong tradition of excellence, but even more so of the joy and warmth that fills our classrooms and playgrounds each day. Our dedicated staff create an atmosphere where children feel secure to take risks, try new things and discover their unique strengths. We prepare children for their next steps at LEH Senior School, helping them become independent in their learning, in their thoughts and in their actions.

In September I will be handing over the reigns of Head of LEH Junior School into the very capable hands of Iona Carmody. It is with great sadness that I leave, however Iona brings with her a wealth of experience in teaching and educational leadership as well as energy, innovation and warmth, and I am confident she will build on the fantastic achievements of our wonderful school. Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make and I warmly invite you to visit us, meet Iona and our wonderful pupils and staff, and experience for yourself the spirit of curiosity, care and achievement that makes LEH Junior School such a special place.

Find out more about our new Head

Our wonderful Head Girl and Deputy Head girl interviewed our new Head, Iona Carmody on everything from what makes a good junior school, to her favourite school subjects and what type of holidays she enjoys! Iona takes up the role of Head of our Junior School in September 2026.

By continuing to focus on the full curriculum instead of intensive 11+ preparation, children benefit from broader, more meaningful learning that supports stronger academic outcomes beyond a single entrance exam.

The Power of An All-Girls’ Education

At LEH Junior School, we believe there is something powerful about an all-girls’ education. From the very start of their school journey, our pupils are encouraged to be curious, ambitious and bold – without the limits of stereotypes or expectations.

In our classrooms, girls lead every discussion, solve every problem and take on every role. They see that every subject, from Science and Computing to Sport and the Arts, belongs to them. This freedom creates a culture where confidence and self-belief flourish naturally, and where girls feel safe to try, to fail, and to succeed.

Research shows that girls thrive academically and personally in single-sex settings, developing stronger voices and a willingness to embrace leadership. At LEH, we see this every day. Our pupils are resilient, collaborative and enthusiastic learners who support and celebrate each other’s achievements.

An all-girls’ education is not about shielding pupils from the wider world but equipping them to shape it. At LEH Junior School, your daughter will discover her passions, grow her strengths, and learn that her future has no boundaries.
