Impressive victories all round!
It has been another exceptional week for sport at LEH, with pupils achieving success across cricket, tennis, athletics and swimming, while our staff also brought home borough honours on the netball court. Highlights included the U15 cricket team’s impressive victory in the Middlesex County Cup quarter-final, securing their place in the semi-finals, and our U15 tennis team qualifying for the Regional Finals following a series of strong performances. On the athletics track and field, LEH athletes delivered outstanding results at the Richmond Borough Athletics Competition, with multiple event victories, two new records and the Year 8 team crowned Borough Champions! Our swimmers also rounded off a fantastic season with an excellent fourth-place finish at the London Swim League Finals, making LEH the highest-placed girls’ school in the competition. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience shown by our students throughout the year. Congratulations to all those who represented LEH so brilliantly this week.
Cricket
The U15 cricket team managed to play their Middlesex County cup quarter final against The Mill Hill School. LEH team bowled first and kept the opposition to 96 runs within 20 overs. The team then took to bat with Rhythm and Captain, Brishelle leading the chase. The team raced to the target by the 11th over, reaching 97-1. With the win the team continue onto the semi-final and we look forward to this match. Well done to the team on a great win.
Sadly, our U13 match and tournament had to be postponed this week due to the poor weather.

LEH v St Pauls
On Tuesday our Division 1 team played St Pauls Girls. There were some great matches played by all our players. In our 9 & 10 team, the girls can be very proud of a convincing victory winning five out of the six matches. The 7 & 8 team fought hard and ended the matches in a draw which took us to a shoot out to 10 points. Unfortunately, it ended in a 10-7 loss, but there were some fantastic rallies. Congratulations to Sofia, Emily, Isabella, Cecilia, Sanaz, Aanya, Soraya and Alexa.
LEH v Godolphin & Latymer School
On Wednesday, our Division 1, Team 1, U15 and U13 teams travelled to Godolphin & Latymer School for their final league match. The weather held off for us so we had several good matches. The U13 had a tough match overall but all players demonstrated some great rallies. Our U15 team had some very competitive games against their opposition but secured wins in all, enabling them to qualify for the Regional Finals. We are delighted with their success and well done to Lara, Emily, Sofia and Brishelle.
LEH v Latymer Upper School
On Thursday we travelled to Latymer Upper School to play our Division 2, Team 1 match which we were so pleased that the weather held off to enable us to play. Our 9 & 10 team had some tough matches and our player 1, 2 singles and our 3 & 4 doubles games all went to tie break. The matches were so even and despite some brilliant play we lost the whole match 8-4. Our 7 & 8’s had equally tough games. The girls demonstrated great resilience, and we ended in a 6-6 draw, which meant we had to play a shoot-out to 10 points. Unfortunately, we were beaten, which ended in a Latymer Upper overall win. Congratulations to Cecilia, Aishnavi, Josephine, Scarlett, Angela, Yana, Riya and Tara.
LEH U13/U14 v Godolphin and Latymer
Also on Thursday, our U13 and U14 tennis players played in a friendly fixture against Godolphin and Latymer. There was a very high standard of tennis played across the board despite the rain, and all players gave their best in the weather. Our U14s played some great tennis, with a special mention going to Pair 1 who finished with a respectable 4-4 draw against very strong opposition. The U13s also played very well against tough pairs, working hard and playing together. Three of our pairs came out victorious with good wins in closely contested games. Well done to everyone who played.
