Four silver and six bronze medals at the World School Games
Despite the unexpected weather this week, which led to the postponement of all our scheduled tennis and cricket matches, our talented team of LEH swimmers had the chance to make waves on an international stage. Representing the school at the prestigious World School Games, held at the state-of-the-art London Aquatic Centre, our swimmers showcased their skill, determination, and team spirit.
The event was truly global, attracting schools from across Great Britain as well as from countries including Turkey, Nigeria, the UAE, Kenya, the Bahamas, Bulgaria, Switzerland, and Botswana. Competing against such a diverse and highly skilled field, the competition was fierce, and the standards exceptionally high.
Our swimmers rose to the challenge brilliantly, demonstrating not only technical excellence but also composure and resilience under pressure. Throughout the weekend, they secured numerous places in finals across a variety of events, thrilling spectators with their speed, technique, and competitive spirit. Their efforts were rewarded with an impressive medal haul: four silver and six bronze, highlighting the depth of talent within our squad and their dedication to training and teamwork.
It was a memorable and inspiring experience for everyone involved, and the school is incredibly proud of the swimmers’ achievements, which have set a high benchmark for future competitions.
