Multiple victories and strong performances set the stage for an exciting summer of racing
LEH Rowing Club enjoyed a highly successful weekend at Reading Amateur Regatta, with athletes across all age groups delivering impressive performances and securing several notable victories.
The Regatta provided an excellent opportunity for rowers to race in a variety of boat classes and experience different crew combinations. Saturday saw the club’s Seniors, J16s and J15s take to the water, while Sunday featured strong representation from the J14 and J13 squads. Throughout the weekend, LEH crews demonstrated determination, teamwork and skill, competing against strong opposition and making the most of the valuable racing experience.
One of the highlights of the event was the success achieved by several crews across different categories. The J16 Coxed Four produced an outstanding performance to claim victory, while the J15 squad enjoyed a particularly successful regatta. Wins for the J15 Band 2 Eight, J15 Band 2 Coxed Four and J15 Band 3 Quad reflected the depth of talent within the age group and the hard work put in by athletes and coaches throughout the season.
Beyond the results, the Regatta offered rowers the chance to develop their racing skills, build confidence and strengthen team spirit. The opportunity to race in smaller boats and mixed crew combinations helped athletes gain valuable experience that will support their continued progression.
The weekend’s achievements are a testament to the dedication and commitment shown by all members of the club. Every crew represented LEH with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, contributing to a memorable and rewarding regatta.
With Reading Amateur Regatta now complete, attention turns to the next challenges on the racing calendar. The Seniors and J16s are looking forward to competing at Henley Women’s Regatta this weekend, while the J13, J14 and J15 squads will race at Thames Valley Park Regatta, eager to build on the momentum from another successful weekend on the water.

LEH Rowing
Rowing at LEH is more than a sport, it’s a close-knit community built on trust, dedication, and teamwork.
LEH Boat Club (LEHBC) is one of the top girls’ rowing programmes in the country winning medals every year at the Scullery, Schools Head and the National Schools Regatta. We regularly qualify a boat for Henley Royal Regatta and have girls attend GB Trials every year with girls often representing Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse and Junior World Championships. Through access to top-class facilities and expert coaching, our rowers experience personal growth, resilience, and a winning mindset from Year 8 through to Sixth Form. Along their journey, they will understand what it’s like to be part of a team where every single girl is backing each other, and themselves.
Joining the rowing club means forging lasting friendships and embracing accountability, both on and off the water. Our supportive coaches guide every athlete, making each session a chance to improve skills and build confidence in a welcoming environment. We’re passionate about making rowing accessible to all pupils, offering fun, inclusive activities that spark enthusiasm regardless of experience.
