Junior School’s First Film Role wins Award

We are so proud of our Junior School pupil, Kexin who played the leading role in the film, The Wave Off Little Dragon which recently won the Prize of the Children’s Jury at the 72nd International Short Film Festival Oberhausen in Germany.

The 14-minute short film directed by Jian Luo premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2025 and tells the story a Chinese girl, Feifei, played by Kexin, living in a Welsh fishing village who navigates the loss of her pet fish while dealing with cultural differences.

We are delighted to have supported Kexin on this adventure. LEH has a long history of successful alumnae in the arts and offers a comprehensive Drama programme throughout the school. Congratulations Kexin!
