We are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with London Mavericks, creating a valuable link between netball at LEH and the elite professional game.
This partnership reflects our belief that young people thrive when they are given opportunities to discover what excites them, learn from people at the top of their field and see just where their own talents and ambitions could take them.
At LEH, sport is an integral part of school life. We are passionate about creating an environment where every pupil can enjoy being active, develop confidence and experience the many benefits of taking part in sport, whatever their ability or experience.
Inspiring a lifelong love of sport
Our Sport for All ethos is at the heart of our approach. We believe that sport should be accessible, enjoyable and rewarding for everyone, whether pupils are trying a new activity, playing for a school team or simply discovering the pleasure of being active.
Sport offers so much more than physical fitness. It builds resilience, teamwork, leadership and friendships, while encouraging pupils to challenge themselves, celebrate one another’s successes and learn from setbacks. Our aim is to nurture a lifelong love of physical activity and ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to participate, develop and thrive.
Supporting our elite athletes
Alongside our inclusive approach, we recognise the importance of providing additional opportunities for pupils who demonstrate exceptional sporting ability, commitment and ambition.
Our Talented and Aspiring Athletes Programme supports pupils who are looking to develop their sporting potential and pursue their ambitions at a higher level. We believe that academic excellence and sporting ambition can go hand in hand, and that young athletes should feel encouraged to pursue their goals both in the classroom and in their chosen sports. By celebrating sporting achievement and nurturing individual talent, we aim to inspire pupils to challenge themselves and explore just how far their abilities might take them.
Connecting school sport with the professional game
Our new relationship with London Mavericks is another exciting step in this journey, bringing the world of professional netball closer to our school community.
The partnership creates opportunities to strengthen the connection between school-level sport and the elite game, for example, player visits, coaching masterclasses, matchday experiences and mentoring opportunities, giving pupils the inspiration that comes from seeing what dedication, teamwork and ambition can achieve.
For our aspiring netballers in particular, that connection with professional sport offers an exciting glimpse of the possibilities ahead.
But the benefits extend beyond those with elite sporting ambitions. Seeing talented athletes succeed can inspire pupils of all abilities to get involved, try something new and develop confidence in their own potential.
