From IPads to the Stage
By day the pupils will know Mr Taylor in his role as Mobile Devices and Systems Manager, ensuring that all their iPads are running smoothly along with other essential IT systems around the school. Many will not know, however, that along with his talent for technology, he is also a wonderful actor who has appeared in many productions, mostly playing locally at Hampton Hill Theatre. We are delighted to see his acting achievements recognised being recently named Best Leading Male Performer in a Musical at the 2026 Arts Richmond Swan Awards for his performance as Guy in Once with Teddington Theatre Club. The judges praised Jacob’s “superb acting talent, splendid singing voice and accomplished guitar playing”, recognising his exceptional performance in this lively, dramatic, and emotional musical. The prestigious Swan Awards celebrate excellence in local amateur theatre.
We’re incredibly proud to see Jacob’s talents recognised. Congratulations, Jacob! You can see Jacob next as John Tallentire in The Hired Man by Melvyn Bragg and Howard Goodall at St. James’ Church, Hampton Hill from 4th-7th November.
