From convincing victories and closely fought contests to first fixtures of the season and impressive performances in regional competition, there has been plenty to celebrate. Most importantly, our teams have shown tremendous determination, teamwork and sporting spirit throughout. Read on for all the latest results and highlights.
Netball
LEH v Surbiton High School
On Monday the U12 A,B and C team travelled the short distance to Surbiton to partake in their first after school fixture. The teams performed extremely well, especially considering this was the first time they had played together in these teams, and took convincing wins across all three games. Well done to the Players of the Match winners Ophelia, Martha and Aradhree.
LEH v St Paul’s Girls’ School
On Tuesday evening, our U15 A, B and C netball teams travelled to take on St Paul’s Girls’ School in a series of competitive fixtures. All three teams were involved in closely contested matches, showing excellent determination, teamwork and resilience throughout. Despite some fantastic passages of play and outstanding defensive performances, St Paul’s proved just too strong on the day, with all three teams losing their matches. Players of the Match congratulations to Maya, Anna, Bella, Chen and Izzy D. Well played, girls!
LEH v Godolphin and Latymer School
The U14 netball teams played Godolphin and Latymer School on Tuesday. The C and D teams displayed great determination and ability to stick to task to secure two strong wins. The A and Bs were challenged and continued to work on their connections at this early stage of the season. Well done to all the players who participated in the fixture but especially well done to the Players of the Match, Alice, Soraya, Ailsa, Grace and Lumia.
Sister’s n Sport Competition
Our U13A team had their next round of the Sister’s in Sport competition against Surbiton High School on Wednesday. They started strongly and played very well throughout the match to secure a good win 26-6. The team demonstrated good attacking and defensive skills, as well as fantastic teamwork throughout the whole match. Well done to all who played and to Emily who was awarded oppositions ‘player of the match’.
Surbiton High School also played our B and C teams in a friendly match. Our B team put in a determined performance against a strong Surbiton team, creating some excellent passages of play despite the loss. The C team played out an evenly contested match, coming away with a deserved draw. Congratulations to Arabella, Hannah, and Mary who were named Players of the Match.
Football
The U13 girls played their first league match of the season against Twickenham School. We made a positive start, taking an early lead and showing some excellent dribbling skills. Some fantastic saves from Raffey helped us stay ahead for much of the first half. Just before half-time, Twickenham finally broke through our defence, leaving the score level at 1-1. The second half saw some closely contested tackles, but Twickenham managed to break away on several occasions and take the lead. The match finished 5-2 to Twickenham.
Congratulations to Ottilie and Anya, who received the Players’ Player awards, and Vivian, who was named Coaches’ Player.
A great effort from the whole team in their first league fixture. We look forward to our next match and the opportunity to build on this performance!
Lacrosse
LEH enjoyed a fantastic morning of lacrosse against Caterham, played in glorious weather and with a great spirit of competition throughout. Across all age groups, there were impressive victories, narrow defeats, and plenty of moments that demonstrated the strength and depth of the LEH programme.
Players demonstrated skill, creativity, and confidence across the pitch, producing crucial goals, defensive stops, and moments of brilliance that lifted their teams and showcased the talent within the squad. Quick ball movement, determined defending, and excellent communication helped produce some excellent passages of play and several hard-earned wins. Alongside the collective effort, there were several exceptional individual performances. Congratulations to all players involved on an enjoyable and successful afternoon of lacrosse against Caterham.
Swimming
A strong start to the year for our Junior, Intermediate and Senior swimming teams who competed in the London Regional ESSA relay heats in the hopes of qualifying for the National Finals in November. All three teams performed brilliantly with times exceeding our already high expectations. Well done to the team on some excellent races and we wait to find out on our results!
