Our Year 4 pupils enjoyed a trip to Tring where they learned about evolution, adaptation, and more through an amazing collection of animals and skeletons. The girls had time to circulate round the galleries of exhibits and had some hands-on experience looking at bones and skeletons working out what each bone or skeleton might be. We discussed some of the ethics behind zoos and taxidermy collections, discussing their benefits (for example to aid learning) and drawbacks, and how opinions to each have developed over time.
‘I loved the workshop and trying to work out what each skeleton might be of.’ Skyla
‘It was interesting to be able to go round and touch some of the exhibits, like the fox and one of the monkeys. Their fur was so soft.’ Adriana
