A Week of Discovery: Science Week in the Junior School

Last week, pupils across the Junior School celebrated British Science Week by exploring this year’s theme: curiosity. Throughout the week, pupils were encouraged to ask questions, discover new ideas and share fascinating scientific facts as part of their Science Week homework talks.

On Wednesday morning, the Junior School welcomed Mr Malani, who delivered a fascinating assembly exploring the forces involved in space flight and sailing hydrofoils. Pupils learned how science and engineering come together in cutting-edge technology, including the remarkable work of Britain’s women’s America’s Cup team.

To round off the week, Lower 2 and Upper 2 pupils visited the Senior School to take part in the annual Senior STEM Fair. The visit gave pupils the chance to explore a wide range of innovative projects and experiments, celebrating the creativity and curiosity that drives scientific discovery.

A special congratulations goes to Upper 2, along with Xinyu (L2), Reva (U1) and Lilly (F1), who represented the Junior School at the fair. Their enthusiasm and interest in STEM made them wonderful ambassadors for the Junior School community.

Science Week was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to explore the world around them, ask questions and celebrate the excitement of scientific discovery.
