It has been a busy and exciting period for school sport, with pupils competing across football, netball and indoor cricket fixtures. From borough tournaments to competitive school match-ups, teams demonstrated great determination, teamwork and skill throughout. With a mixture of strong wins, close contests and valuable learning experiences, it has been a fantastic start to the term and a promising sign of what’s to come. Well done to all involved.
Football
Last Friday, our U12 football team participated in the Borough football tournament at RTS. It was a competitive tournament and the team played in four different matches with a mixture of success. It was a great competition for them to take part and we look forward to a few more matches this term. Well done to the team!
Netball
LEH v North London Collegiate School
On Saturday, we were fortunate to be able to play our netball games against North London Collegiate School (NCLS). We started the morning with the U15A and B and U16A and B matches. The U15s started strong, with the As taking a convincing win and the Bs coming back from seven down to win by one! U16As also started with a great win, showing their strong teamwork throughout the whole game, in both attack and defence which was great preparation ahead of the Regional Finals this weekend. U16 Bs also had a great game, winning convincingly.
The second round saw the U18 2nds dust off the Christmas cobwebs to take a great win against a competitive side. The U12A had their first run out of the new year, they had some good passages of play but sadly lost their match against a strong NLCS side. The U12Bs started strong but unfortunately ended with a loss but the team did well to put in a great performance till the end. The U12Cs took a great win, showing off their skills learnt over the last term.
Finally, the third round saw the U14 and U13A and Bs take the court. Unfortunately, the U13B took a one goal loss after an incredibly close game. The U14Bs fought extremely well and only just lost in the last few minutes. Well done to the U13As and U14 As both taking great wins to finish the day strong. The U14As displayed some fantastic netball throughout the whole game and had a very strong win overall.
Well done to the players of the day, Annabel, Arabella, Emily, Alice, Sienna, Jemima, Mahzala, Aurelia, Livia, Rhythm, Zoe, Kitty, Cecelia, Charlie, Audrey, Ava, Leila and Amelia.
U12 v Surbiton High School
Our U12D, E, F, G and H teams played against Surbiton High School on Monday. All five teams played very well and seemed to enjoy their matches. All players demonstrated good match play and the skills they have been working on in games and practices which was pleasing to see. Our D and H team both won their games with three narrow losses for the other teams. Well done to all who played.
U14 v Surbiton High School
On Tuesday, our U14A, B, C and D netball teams played against Surbiton High School. All four teams played some good matches with a mix of success. The A team demonstrated what they have been working on over the last few months in both attack and defence and had some great turnovers. The B team also demonstrated some good tactical knowledge, winning a lot of ball, securing them a good win overall. Our C& D teams also had good match play, working well in their teams. Well done to all who played.
Indoor cricket
A team of our Year 8 and 9 pupils participated in the Borough Indoor Cricket tournament at Twickenham school on Monday. The team won two and lost one, demonstrating a brilliant display of bowling, batting and fielding. This was a great start to the season, with indoor nets starting this term too.
