Serious about Drama

Whether wanting to study Drama at A level or just following a passion for theatre, LEH Drama has something for everyone. From staging West End-style musicals with Hampton School – including the 2025 award-winning 42nd Street – to creating original plays with professional playwrights. Whether acting, directing, or working behind the scenes, students can dive into every aspect of theatre.

Our 240-seat theatre and dedicated Performing Arts facilities provide the perfect backdrop for bold, creative expression. Students regularly take part in workshops with leading theatre companies, perform in festivals, and enjoy trips to London and beyond.

Drama at LEH is about exploring, experimenting, and shining on stage and off.

Who should choose A level Drama and Theatre?

Students who take Drama and Theatre A level are investing in the development of invaluable life skills. Inspired through creativity,
experimentation, team work and critical thinking, our students deepen their passion for the theatre world, alongside strengthening vital communication skills and self-confidence. As well as working on your feet, the course will challenge you academically by asking you to engage in a range of cultural discourses that questions your perception of what constitutes dramatic art, and what it is for. Whilst many students choose to study acting, working as designers, technicians, and directors on the course can be just as exciting.

COURSE DETAILS

Write the Girl

Write the Girl is a partnership between schools and theatre professionals to support playwrights in creating the powerful, meaningful stories young women deserve. Schools select a play from our play-pack, commission a playwright, and collaborate on a creative journey from pen to stage. The result? New plays that feature large casts, challenge, and engage young women – often marginalised by a male-dominated canon – on the main stage.
