At LEH, we believe that academic ambition and personal happiness are not mutually exclusive. In our classrooms, corridors, and across the playing fields, you’ll find a culture of relaxed excellence; a place where students are encouraged to think deeply, question boldly, and engage in spirited, respectful debate. Here, challenge is not something to be feared but embraced – because it comes with the right support. Our teaching goes beyond the curriculum, nurturing curiosity, independence, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. We don’t just teach girls what to think, but how to think – equipping them with the critical thinking skills and intellectual confidence to thrive at school and far beyond.
Amazing Facilities with the Benefit of an All-Girls Education
Set in 24 acres of green space, yet just ten miles from central London, our pupils enjoy access to four lacrosse pitches, eight outdoor netball courts, six grass tennis courts, a croquet lawn, and our state-of-the-art Gateway Building, home to a large sports hall, strength and conditioning suite, activity studio, and an indoor swimming pool.
At LEH, we know that girls thrive in an environment designed just for them. Research consistently shows that single-sex education helps girls unlock their full potential – giving them the confidence, freedom, and support to explore, experiment, and excel.
There is convincing evidence that girls in all-girls schools tend to participate more actively in class, are more likely to embrace challenges without fear of judgement, take greater risks in their learning, and achieve higher academic outcomes than their peers in co-educational settings.
At LEH, this translates into an atmosphere where pupils feel safe to voice their opinions, develop leadership skills, and build resilience, forging friendships and teamwork in a community that truly understands and empowers them.
Best of Both Worlds
There are benefits of co-educational interaction and collaboration outside of academics, which is why we foster strong partnerships with our neighbours, Hampton School. From Year 7 our pupils benefit from shared facilities, joint activities, and sessions delivered by peer mentors from both schools. This balance ensures our students gain the best of both worlds – confidence to focus in a girls-only space, alongside meaningful co-curricular experiences.
With practical arrangements like a shared coach network, starting from our Junior School, we make it easy for families to enjoy the advantages of this unique educational partnership.
Welcome to LEH, a place of curiosity, courage and boundless ambition. It is a school full of opportunities, challenges and friendships where bright girls’ minds are inspired to think boldly, act bravely, and dream without limits. Our pupils are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, to ask big questions, and to shape their own journeys with confidence and creativity.
They do this within a community built on kindness, mutual respect and shared purpose, where every voice matters, every difference is celebrated, and everyone is empowered to belong and to reach the edges of their brilliance.
Our academic curriculum is rigorous, broad, and ever-evolving – complemented by a rich programme of enrichment and co-curricular opportunities. Whether exploring new interests, taking on leadership roles, or stepping onto the stage or sports field, our pupils are encouraged to be curious, courageous, and collaborative. They leave us not only with excellent results, but with confidence to challenge themselves and one another.
LEH students achieve outstanding academic results – but that’s just one part of their story. What truly sets them apart is the spark they carry; a quiet confidence, a sense of joy, and an openness to all that the future holds.
The best way to understand the spirit of LEH is to visit us. Come to one of our open events, meet our remarkable pupils and staff, and feel the energy for yourself. I know you’ll see a happy, purposeful, and forward-looking school, full of life, laughter and bold ambition.
Bold Beginnings Start Here. We can’t wait to welcome you.

Welcome from Head of Middle School
The transition to Senior School can be a challenging time but from the moment our Middle School pupils arrive they are encouraged to be part of a caring, supportive community that allows students to be themselves and to grasp new opportunities with both hands. Students with all levels of accomplishment and expertise are encouraged to participate in the wide variety of activities on offer.
The students study a broad curriculum that stimulates, challenges and helps them make informed decisions about their subject choices as they pass into the Upper School. Students are encouraged to question, think creatively and understand that failure builds success. The teachers are warm and approachable and work with students to develop their academic potential.
We are rightly proud of our pastoral system at LEH. In the Middle School, each form will have two tutors, carefully selected for their skill with students of this age group. Daily form time is used to broaden the LEH education including lively discussions about recent news items, well-being activities and the organisation of charity events. Each year group also has a Head of Year, and our nurses and counsellors all contribute to the holistic pastoral care on offer.
We hope that as they leave the Middle School all pupils will have developed the qualities of self-discipline, ambition and integrity that will allow them to flourish as they prepare for public examinations and beyond.
I look forward to welcoming you to LEH Senior School.

Welcome from Head of Upper School
Starting GCSE courses is an exciting time in your school career. In the Upper School, you can explore subjects in greater depth and further develop your individual interests and ambitions. Greater independence of study is something students enjoy, and all the GCSE courses provide huge opportunities to develop intellectual rigour alongside a stimulating curriculum.
The extra-curricular programme provides a happy complement to the academic experience. At LEH there are countless opportunities for pupils to participate in sport, music and drama, in addition to a plethora of other activities that enable students to learn new skills, mix with the wider school community and above all, to have fun!
The pastoral care of the students in Upper School remains a key priority. The pastoral team are there every step of the way, supporting wellbeing and ensuring students achieve the best they can in all areas of their life through the two-year journey, We want you to feel that you can forge ahead and embrace the opportunities presented to you, but we know that there may be a few bumps along the way. We operate as a safety net and are always there to help you bounce back.
The aim of the Upper School is to enable students to develop all the skills they will need for the future, in Sixth Form and beyond in addition to excellent GCSE results. We hope that students are excited about this next chapter in their LEH career and very much look forward to working with them.

A message from the Head Girl Team
Starting secondary school can feel daunting, but at LEH, every Third is made to feel instantly at home. From the very first day, meeting our Year 10 buddies and being introduced to the legendary House system, we became part of something vibrant and welcoming. Those older students became friendly faces in corridors, offering tips (like how to survive the tuck shop queue!) and a sense of belonging that made all the difference.
Looking back, what stands out most about our early days at LEH is how quickly we settled in. Whether it was our Form Tutors patiently answering endless questions, playing inter-class netball tournaments, or taking part in House quizzes, the sense of community was immediate and strong.
We were encouraged to throw ourselves into school life, and our lunchtimes quickly filled up with clubs – Debating Club, Theatre Production, Swimming, Fencing, Chess, Quiz Club – we literally had hundreds of clubs and activities on offer – the choice felt endless. That same spirit of exploration extended to our lessons too. In subjects like product design and textiles, we learned to use new technology and tools, while in Music, we composed our own pieces – however chaotic they may have sounded at first!
Sport plays a huge part in LEH life, and the Thirds dive straight in. Many of us joined squads for lacrosse, netball, swimming or gymnastics, gaining confidence, learning discipline, and sharing unforgettable experiences with our teammates – on the pitch and off.
The Music and Drama departments foster creativity and self-expression, supporting everyone from beginners to future professionals. The Write the Girl programme, for example, encourages students to use drama as a tool to amplify the voices of young women, a cause close to our hearts.
Our journey has also been shaped by the unforgettable trips and shared experiences that bind us together: from conquering the PGL zip lines in Year 7 to rekindling that same adventurous spirit on the Sixth Form leadership retreat to Avon Tyrrell. These experiences cement friendships and build the sense of sisterhood that defines LEH.
The House system is at the heart of school life, uniting students across all year groups in healthy competition and shared celebration. Whether through Drama, Music, Sport, cooking or debate, these events bring out our collective spirit and pride.
At LEH, you’re encouraged to be curious, bold, and kind. LEH’s ethos, of supporting one another, embracing challenge, and celebrating each other’s wins, makes the seven years here truly transformative.

We are delighted to reveal our 2025 Christmas card! It was beautifully designed by Gece B, a talented Year 11 student at Lady Eleanor Holles School.
We’re also incredibly grateful to LEH for choosing Hands as one of their fundraising charities for 2025/26. Their support will help us continue our work in Twickenham and St Margaret’s, ensuring that members of our community can maintain their independence and live fulfilling, connected lives.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Miss Iona Carmody as the new Head of Junior School, beginning in September 2026.
Selected from an exceptional field of candidates, Miss Carmody brings extensive experience in teaching and educational leadership, including her most recent role as Head of Lower School (4–11) at The Queen’s School in Chester. She holds an MSc in Education Management and Leadership from the University of Southampton and has worked in both state and independent sectors in the UK, as well as in South Africa.
Miss Carmody impressed the panel with her compassionate leadership and her strong vision for girls’ education. Head of LEH, Rowena Cole, said that Miss Carmody brings significant experience along with energy, innovation and warmth, and that she is well placed to build on the achievements of the Junior School.
Miss Carmody will work closely with Mrs Paula Mortimer over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition after Mrs Mortimer’s ten years of inspiring leadership.
Reflecting on her appointment, Miss Carmody said she is thrilled to be joining such a happy, ambitious and thriving school, and is passionate about empowering the next generation of young women to be confident, bold and imaginative thinkers.
