Work at LEH
LEH is a school that offers fantastic opportunities. The opportunity to be part of a dedicated team of talented staff, to make friends and to be stretched and challenged by our remarkable pupils. Most importantly of all, the opportunity to enjoy coming to work each day.
If you’re ready to be inspired by supportive and dedicated colleagues who will encourage you daily to be the best you can be, we think you might enjoy everything that LEH has to offer.
We look forward to welcoming you and I’ve no doubt you’ll experience what I felt the first time I walked through our doors: that LEH is a happy, confident yet relaxed school, full of energy, determination, and hope for the future.

Why train to teach?
Engaging and inspiring teachers help pupils discover their passions and talents. It’s a profession that sparks curiosity and helps establish a lifelong love of learning. At LEH, we know the impact that brilliant teachers can have and see this in our classrooms every day. There are many different routes into teaching and bursaries and scholarships are available in certain subjects to provide financial support during training. No two days are ever the same and no class is ever the same. I can’t imagine ever being bored in this job.
Why train with LEH?
Training teachers and helping them develop the knowledge and skills to deliver an outstanding learning experience for pupils is something we’re passionate about at LEH.
LEH is a fantastic place to learn and teach and training with LEH gives you the chance to work alongside and learn from fantastic colleagues. Our Teacher Training team and our specialist subject departments offer an encouraging environment and provide challenge to help trainees push beyond their comfort levels with support at every step of the way,
LEH is proud to work with two national School-Centred Initial Teacher Training initiatives – National Mathematics & Physics SCITT and National Modern Languages known as SCITTs – to help train brilliant teachers of the future. Applying to do your training through a SCITT means you’ll spend most of your training time in schools, gaining a PGCE qualification after successfully completing your course. You’ll experience being part of a team in both an independent and a state school. At the end of your course, you’ll have gained fantastic skills and experience along with a national qualification that will enable you to teach in either the independent or the state school sector.
Why choose to train though a SCITT?
- Learn by spending most of your time teaching in a school.
- Take part in a one-year structured training programme.
- Work with experienced colleagues as part of a subject specific department in a supportive and rich learning environment.
- Spend one study day each week at LEH to carry out your professional studies and subject specific training alongside other trainees.
- Experience both independent and state school settings as part of your training year.
- Apply for a Bursary or a Scholarship to support you financially.
How do I become a Hub Partner School?
Alongside helping to recruit more teachers to our profession, a key benefit of becoming a partner school is having an unsalaried trainee, following a comprehensive training programme, placed in your school as part of a department. For more information, please contact us. [itt@lehs.org.uk]
