Sport is a vibrant and inclusive part of life at LEH Junior School. Our aim is to foster a lifelong love of physical activity, encourage healthy habits and build confidence through sport. We believe every girl should feel excited to move, play, compete and try new things – and we make sure she has the opportunity to do just that.
Our broad and engaging PE curriculum includes weekly lessons in gymnastics, dance, athletics and games such as netball, cricket, football and tennis. From Year 3, pupils swim weekly in our on-site pool and work towards achieving personal goals, such as distance badges and improving technique. As they move through the school, girls build their fitness, skills and understanding of team play in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Sport is not just about competition – it’s about personal growth, resilience and teamwork. Whether your daughter is representing her House in a spirited netball match or taking part in her first gymnastics display, she’ll learn the value of effort, sportsmanship and self-belief.
Our facilities are exceptional. Pupils benefit from access to a large sports hall, activity studio, netball and tennis courts, extensive playing fields and a fully equipped swimming pool. Many PE lessons and clubs also make use of the Senior School facilities, which are just a short walk across our shared campus.
LEH girls take part in regular fixtures and tournaments against local schools, starting from Year 3. They also compete in House events such as Swimming Galas, Netball competitions and our much-loved Sports Day. We ensure that every pupil – whether she’s a team player or an individual performer – has the chance to shine.
A wide variety of sports clubs run before and after school, including football, tennis, netball, athletics, gymnastics, multi-sports and yoga. Girls are encouraged to try different activities, build strength and coordination, and find what they enjoy most.
Sport at LEH Junior School is about building active, confident minds and healthy bodies – and helping every girl discover the joy of movement.
