The transition from Junior to Senior School is a key milestone – and at LEH, it’s one we make exciting, positive and completely seamless. As an all-through school, our pupils enjoy the incredible benefit of moving up without the need for an 11+ exam. Instead, they stay focused on learning, developing independent learning skills and building their resilience, ready to face the future undaunted.
Because the Junior and Senior Schools share the same 24-acre campus, pupils are familiar with many aspects of Senior School life long before they reach Year 7. They regularly use shared spaces – from science labs and art studios to the swimming pool and theatre – and meet Senior School staff through co-curricular clubs and enrichment events.
In Year 6 (Upper 2), girls take part in a dedicated PSHE and wellbeing programme focused on preparing them for the next stage of their journey. Topics such as independence, friendships, digital responsibility and time management are explored in depth. Parents are supported too, through expert-led sessions on how to guide their daughters through the transition.
