On Thursday 2nd October, six Thirds (Year 7) pupils set off for The Hollyfield School and Sixth Form Centre in Surbiton, accompanied by Ms Orr, Teacher of Mathematics for an ISSP day of mathematical challenge and fun with students from four other local schools.

The students exemplified the values of LEH, earning recognition for outstanding problem solving as well as superb collaboration and teamwork with other schools. Impressively, LEH pupils were also part of the teams that placed both First and Third across the tasks from throughout the day! Well done to all who came along; Sophie H, Elizabeth L, Sabine R, Sophie P, Alice L and Niamh B – an excellent achievement and a great day of Maths!

In our pupils’ own words about the day:

“The maths day went brilliantly, and we have enjoyed it very much. We went in pairs, and joined up with other schools where we did a variety of maths games, and fun activities, which broadened our knowledge, and we also did a fun test which was a bit competitive with prizes at the end. LEH did so well!! It was really fun being able to mix with other schools and do activities with them. Everyone had a really fun time stretching their minds to come up with a correct answer. The activities were really exciting with a range of different maths problems. The maths games, such as ‘24’, were very interesting. The food was tasty.  In conclusion it was a very fun trip.”
