Opening Doors to Exceptional Education

We believe that exceptional talent and ambition should be nurtured, regardless of financial background. Our Bursary Programme is designed to ensure that a transformative LEH education is accessible to all bright, motivated girls who will thrive here. Bursaries are available for 11 Plus and Sixth Form entry and Senior School occasional vacancies to years 8, 9 and 10.

LEH is not supported by any Trust or Foundation, so all bursaries are funded through the generosity of alumnae, parents, and our wonderful LEH community.

What does a Bursary cover?

A Bursary is intended to make the cost of attending LEH more affordable. They are means-tested and can cover from £1,000 a term up to the full cost of tuition, as well as uniform, iPad, textbooks, School Coach costs to and from school if required, Curriculum trips and lunches.

How do I Apply?

Bursaries are available to both internal and external applicants. To be considered:

  • Apply for a place at LEH through our standard admissions process and indicate your wish to be considered for a Bursary place.
  • Complete the Bursary Application form, providing detailed financial information to assess eligibility.
  • Submit the Bursary application form by the specified deadline

How are Bursary applications assessed?

A financial disclosure form must be completed, together with supporting documentation. An external agency then reviews it, visits the parents at their home and prepares a report summarising the family’s financial situation. The Director of Finance in turn reviews each application and report prepared by the external agency.

LEH determines awards based on a comprehensive analysis of need, including all variables that contribute to a family’s financial situation, not just family income. LEH’s bursary application process deals with all families on a confidential, individual and personal basis.

Can you hold a Scholarship and a Bursary?

Yes, however the maximum assistance is 100% of fees.

Are there other Financial Assistance Funds available?

In addition to LEH’s own Bursary Fund, several external educational and charitable trusts offer support with tuition fees. Eligibility typically depends on financial need, parental occupation, or place of residence. We encourage families to explore these options where applicable. For more information, visit The Educational Trusts Forum or The Joint Educational Trust.

Support for Current Families

We understand that unexpected financial difficulties can arise at any time. Whilst there is no specific Hardship Fund, if your circumstances change during your daughter’s time at LEH, we encourage you to contact the Director of Finance as soon as possible. All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, with sensitivity and discretion.
