The LEH Curriculum is just the beginning…

Being an LEH pupil is about far more than the brilliant and inspiring education received in the classroom – it’s about embracing every opportunity the school has to offer. And there’s a lot to choose from! As part of our mission to nurture bold, resilient, and engaged young girls, our co-curricular programme of over 100 clubs is wide-ranging, enriching, and invigorating. From Creative Arts, Chess and Food in the News to Sport, Model United Nations, Programming and Fencing, we aim to offer something for everyone.

Along with extra-curricular clubs, our House system brings pupils together across year groups, providing opportunities to meet new friends, share talents, explore new interests, and develop key skills. House events are a valued part of school life, and we encourage every pupil to take an active role – promoting our ethos of mutual respect, encouragement, and teamwork.

LEH girls achieve great things, empowered with experiences well beyond curriculum learning.  Our extra-curricular programme is wide-ranging, inspiring, fun and mentally and physically challenging. It’s designed to build character, confidence, and curiosity.

Place of Possibilities

At LEH, participation in extra-curricular life isn’t just encouraged — it’s an essential part of who we are.

Mentors

We are lucky to have a wonderful and engaged Alumnae community many of whom have exceled in their chosen paths as athletes and sporting champions, thespians, musicians and artists, leading scientists, solicitors, barristers and judges to corporate leaders, they regularly come back to LEH to mentor our pupils. Together, they participate in rousing debates and talks to help career and university choices and deepen knowledge.

Sixth Form engagement

Our Sixth Formers play an active role in shaping school life, leading groups that tackle political, environmental and ethical issues such as Model United Nations, Amnesty and the Eco-Squad. They’re also encouraged to take the initiative and create their own societies — recent examples include the Medic Group, Law Society and Book Club.

Community matters

LEH is also deeply connected to the wider community. Students take part in a wide range of outreach and service opportunities that help them understand and embrace their social responsibilities. From volunteering with local schools and running drama and language clubs for younger pupils, to supporting elderly residents through our Service Volunteers programme, our students make a real difference.

We encourage girls to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. And they can get a taste of industry and innovation as part of our Young Enterprise groups.
