At LEH, the Humanities lie at the heart of a rich and rounded education. Through subjects such as History, English Language & Literature, Geography, Latin & Classical Civilisation and Politics and more, students explore the complexity of human experience – past and present, near and far. We encourage critical thinking, thoughtful debate, and deep questioning, helping students to understand the world and their place within it. Whether analysing historical sources and fictional texts, debating ethical dilemmas, or investigating global challenges, our students develop the analytical skills, empathy, and intellectual curiosity that will stay with them for life.
HALE Hangout
We are delighted to introduce The Hale Hangout, a brand-new podcast created by a group of LEH Sixth Form HALE enthusiasts. Designed to celebrate and share the many facets of HALE – History, Art, Literature and English – the podcast offers thoughtful conversations, student perspectives, and a genuine love of learning. Through interviews and discussions, The Hale Hangout aims to shine a light on the subjects that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking across the school.
Episode 1
In the first episode, our Sixth Form hosts sit down with one of our English teachers to talk all things literature. From favourite texts to the power of storytelling, the conversation explores why literature continues to matter, how it shapes our understanding of the world, and what makes the study of English so engaging for students and teachers alike.
