Sports Update: 16-20 March 2026

It has been a very busy but successful term of sport for our LEH pupils. We have had more success in the past week too as well as attending our final Super Saturday for netball and lacrosse at the weekend. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for all the parental support and we hope that your child has had an enjoyable year of sport so far.

Super Saturday

On Saturday, our Lacrosse and Netball teams across the age groups travelled to St Swithun’s School for the final Super Saturday of the year.  It was a busy morning for many who were playing both sports and many competitive matches. We had a mixture of results across the teams overall, and all our LEH pupils performed very well.  It marked the end of the netball and lacrosse season for many of our Upper 6 pupils who have represented LEH for the past seven years with great pride and passion. Well done to all who played and a super well done for all the success created by you all.

Lacrosse

On Tuesday, the U15B team travelled to the U15B National Schools Lacrosse tournament, hosted at Wycombe Abbey School. The team started strong with some convincing pool wins and a narrow loss placing them 2nd in their group heading into the Last 16. Here, LEH played a closely contested game, ending in a draw. However, due to the first goal scored rule, this placed us into the Plate competition. The team secured convincing wins in the quarter-final and semi-final, before facing a strong St Swithun’s team in the final. LEH played a well thought out and composed game, and they came out victorious as winners of the plate. Well done to all who played.

Netball

Second and Third Tournament

The Senior 2nd team and U16B team took part in the St Paul’s Second and Third Tournament on Wednesday. The Senior 2nds faced a strong pool and won 2 out of 4 games, seeing them in the 5/6th play off. They secured a strong win against St Paul’s Girls’  2nd team to finish 5th overall. It was great to see the Upper 6 players enjoy representing LEH for the last time in netball.

Senior Third Team Tournament

The U16B team took part in the Senior Third Team Tournament, coming up against senior players from a number of schools. The team put in some great skill and tactical play to take top of their pool. This saw them face Sir William Perkins’s school in the semi-final. LEH came away with a convincing win, seeing them take a place in the final. To take the win the team faced Latymer Upper School’s 3rd team, it was a close game but LEH U16Bs managed to secure the win and take the overall victory. Well done to all the players in the teams for a great performance representing LEH.

Borough Tournament

The U12 A and B teams took part in the Borough Tournament last Friday. The A’s took convincing wins throughout the morning to see them finish top of their pool. They successfully won their semi-final which saw them progress into the A competition final. The team put in a great performance to see them take the overall win and become Borough Champions.

The B team showed a great team performance utilising the individual skills of all members of the team to top their pool and progress to the semi-final of the B competition as well. They took a strong win to see them into the final, being 3-0 down at half time the team had to rally together. They put in an excellent performance and managed to secure the win 4-3 and become overall winners of the B tournament and are also Borough Champions.

The U12s also welcomed St George’s School, Weybridge in their games afternoon. This fixture saw all A-F teams out playing on a sunny Friday afternoon. We took a majority of the wins and the teams showed off some amazing skills and tactics they have been working on for the previous season. It was also a great set up and practise for the fixtures taking place on the super Saturday against St Swithun’s the next day. Well done to the Players of the Match: Emily, Raffy, Annabel, Camille, Vivian, Zoya, Tamira, Beatrice, Alexa, Jemima, Tanvi.

Gymnastics

LSGA Tumbling competition

On Friday, we took a team of gymnasts to Croydon High School for the LSGA Tumbling competition. Our gymnasts performed some excellent tumbling passes, securing top marks individually. We are delighted that two of our performers have secured 1st and 2nd place and will now progress to the National Finals next term.  Congratulations to Polina (Upper 6) who finished 1st and Isabella D (Year 9) who finished 2nd in their age categories.  We are also delighted with Emilie C who placed 3rd overall in the U13 age category.  A great day had by all and well done to all the pupils who competed.

BSGA London Region Floor and Vault Competition

Monday brought more gymnastics, our Senior School Gymnastics Squad also entered three teams into the BSGA London Region Floor and Vault Competition.  After some impressive gymnastics, demonstrating polished floor routines and some dynamic vaulting, we are pleased to announce that our U16B Team placed 1st in their competition bringing home the trophy to LEH. Our U13B and U13C Teams also placed well in the rankings and should be extremely proud of their performances.  Well done to all.
