Sports Update w/c 2nd March 2026

This week was a busy and successful one for LEH sport, with students competing across lacrosse and netball fixtures and tournaments. Our lacrosse teams enjoyed a fantastic day hosting the U12 and U13 Tri-County Tournament, where many players experienced their first taste of tournament lacrosse and achieved impressive results, while the senior squads continued their preparations for the upcoming National Schools Lacrosse Championships through competitive scrimmages. In netball, the U12 C–H teams travelled to Surbiton High School for a series of closely contested matches, before LEH hosted the County Netball Finals later in the week. All four LEH teams competed strongly, highlighted by a superb tournament victory for the U19 squad and podium finishes for the U16 and U15 teams. In football, our team demonstrated their improved individual and team skills in a close match against Hampton High. Across the whole week of incredible sport, students demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship while proudly representing LEH.

Lacrosse

U12 and U13 Tri-county tournament

We had a busy Saturday for our lacrosse teams, with the U12 and U13 Tri-county tournament, which LEH organised and hosted. The U12A and B teams had their first taste of tournament lacrosse, thoroughly enjoying the challenge. The U12A team finished a fantastic 2nd and the U12B made great progress through the tournament, finishing 4th. The U13A team had a few games to acclimate themselves to the tournament style and once they did, they put a winning run together finishing 2nd overall. The U13B team showed great passion and teamwork, never giving up earning a 3rd place finish. Well done to all the students who represented LEH and the staff who contributed to the organising and running of the tournament.

LEH v Wycombe Abbey School

The U15A, U14A and U14B teams played in a friendly scrimmage against Wycombe Abbey School with the teams putting their finishing touches in their preparations for the National Schools Lacrosse Championships. The games were played in the right spirit and with purpose of trying specific tactics to scenarios that may occur during the tournament games.

The 1st team played a friendly scrimmage against Centaurs who had a majority of familiar faces with LEH Alumnae playing. It was a great challenge for the 1st team in their National Schools Lacrosse Championships preparation and a fantastic opportunity for past and present LEH students to interact. Well done to all.

Netball

LEH v Surbiton High School

The U12 C-H netball teams made the short trip over to Surbiton High School on Monday. It was great to see all teams out playing and showing off the skills they have been practising over the year so far. The D and H team took great wins, the Es drew in a tight game. The C, F and G teams unfortunately took close losses. Well done to all the players of the matches Emily, Jiya, Lily, Lyra, Elizabeth, Maya, Aimy and Sienna.

County Netball Finals

On Wednesday LEH hosted the County Netball Finals for the U19’s, U16’s U15’s and U14’s which we had qualified for back in October.

The Seniors had a great start winning their first two games against Godolphin and Latymer and City of London Girls School, we then faced Latymer Upper which is always a fantastic match up, but unlike our previous two meetings we narrowly lost. Going into our final game against North London Collegiate School the team was fired up and came out with a fantastic win. This resulted in LEH lifting the trophy and winning the County Tournament. Congratulations to the team who have had an amazing season and thoroughly deserved the win, and especially for our Upper 6 leavers it was the cherry on the cake! Well done to Hannah, Lila, Molly, Lizzie, Lara, Holly, Amelia, Lily, Ella, Anya and Kiki.

Our U16 team have had a fantastic year of netball also and competed well in the Finals tournament. It was a competitive and strong group of schools they competed against and the team secured a mixture of results overall, securing a well-deserved 3rd place overall. Well done to the team on their performance: Josie, Pippa, Charlie, Eliza, Jannah, Isla, Violet, Tabby, Amelia, Maya and Olivia.

The U15’s had a brilliant tournament and played some fantastic netball. They started the afternoon well, winning our first four games against City of London Girls, North London Collegiate and Notting Hill and Ealing. We then met St Pauls, always a well-matched game which can go either way. Unfortunately, St Pauls came out on top winning the match. We then went into our final game with steely determination and won against South Hampstead School placing us second overall. This is a great achievement. Congratulations to the team, Maddy, Chinmyee, Ella, Cecilia, Rosy, Aishnavi, Mikaila, Emily, Claudia, Kitty and Zoe.

Our U14A team also played very well in their tournament, having trained very well over the last two terms and developing their individual and team skills. The team played in some tough games but performed well against their opposition. They also had a mix of results, finishing on a strong win which placed them in 4th place overall. Well done to the team on some fantastic play and demonstrating great resilience and determination: Livia, Sophie, Lara, Isabella, Anna, Isabella, Aurelia, Rhythm, Maya and Aisling.

Football

Last Friday, our U12 football team played Hampton High in a competitive match. The team demonstrated their improved individual and team skills in a close match and they clearly had a lot of enjoyment too. It was a narrow 1-0 to LEH but a definite improvement in performance and the team played very well. Well done to all who played.
