This year we welcomed around 200 pupils from 12 schools, representing 41 delegations. We were especially pleased to welcome LEH alumna Veronica Bolton Smith who gave our Opening Ceremony address. She had arrived back in the UK the day before from working in Kenya with the UN through her company, The Critical Minerals Africa Group, which supports local infrastructure to responsibly mine and process critical minerals.
Across the weekend, delegates debated, amended and passed resolutions in Committee and General Assembly sessions on a wide range of topical issues, all aligned with this year’s theme: Peace & Unity in a Divided World. The discussions felt particularly relevant given recent global events.
Congratulations to our award winners:
Highly Commended Delegates – Olivia C (Denmark, Security Council), Maryam I (Tanzania, Special Committee), Serena V (Yemen, Economic & Social Committee).
Outstanding Delegates – Iris F (USA, Security Council), Amy Z (DPRK, Economic & Social Committee)
