Learning About Healthy Nutrition in the Junior School

On Monday, we were delighted to welcome LEH parent Mrs Hardyment, who delivered an engaging and informative nutrition assembly to our pupils.

The session introduced the children to the principles of healthy eating and helped them understand the important role nutrition plays in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. Drawing on her experience of elite sports nutrition, Mrs Hardyment explored how the right food choices can fuel the body, support concentration, and promote overall health.

Pupils learned how to put together a balanced diet, why variety is important, and when the best times to eat are in order to maintain energy throughout the day. The assembly sparked curiosity and prompted thoughtful questions, with pupils keen to apply what they had learned to their own daily routines.

We are very grateful to Mrs Hardyment for giving our pupils a taste of elite sports nutrition and for sharing her expertise in such an accessible and engaging way.
