Living Our School Values Through Festive Food Creativity

Over the past two weeks, our Food & Nutrition department has celebrated the season by embracing our school values through a variety of festive activities. Pupils created around 80 pastry Christmas trees, each filled with a range of delicious flavours. Year 7 students crafted 25 beautifully decorated Christmas biscuits. Our Food in the News club prepared charming miniature Christmas cakes, and as part of their four-week cookery course, Upper Sixth students completed the programme by preparing a traditional Christmas roast dinner.

We choose to succeed by setting high standards in every recipe and encouraging students to take pride in their creations.
We rise to challenges as students mastered new techniques, from working with pastry to perfecting decorative icing.
We lift those around us by sharing some of our bakes with our teachers and friends, spreading joy across the school.
We inspire trust through teamwork in the kitchen, with students supporting one another, following instructions carefully, and producing work they can be proud of.
We encourage personal agency by giving students the freedom to choose flavours, decorations, and creative touches for their festive bakes.
We embrace joy and laughter as the kitchen filled with music, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

A huge well done to all students involved for your enthusiasm, creativity, and festive spirit.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope your holiday is also filled with lots of laughter, kindness and homemade culinary delights!
