Another great week of sport at LEH with great results for our netball and lacrosse teams.
Netball
Our U15 through to Senior netball teams played St Pauls Girls’ School this week. Our teams had some brilliant match play, demonstrating some great tactical play in both attack and defence.
The U15B and Cs were very excited to get the half term started with a fixture and after a slower start managed to settle into their rotations and settle into the game. Both teams had hard fought battles with the Cs coming away with a 9-6 win and the Bs couldn’t close the score line and unfortunately lost by seven goals. It was a good fixture to welcome both teams back to netball and we have lots of learnings we can take into upcoming training. Well done to the MVPs: Zoe, Amrit and Isabel.
The U16A&B team also showcased their skills in their matches and secured two good wins. Both teams played well in attack and defence, working on their tactics and delivering strong through court play. The U16B team had a very dominant win overall and well done to them with the A team maintaining the lead throughout the match and securing their win. Well done to Ava and Violet on their player of the match.
The Senior 1sts and 2nds travelled to St Pauls on Wednesday afternoon to compete in their first fixture of the half term. Both teams were up for the contest against to strong St Pauls teams, the 2nds faced an additional challenge of only having six players through illness. The 2nds came away short of the win however with being a player down for the whole game should be extremely proud of their performance and the way they banded together as a team to continue to contest throughout, well done to the MVP Shimmy. The 1sts played a great game and really developed throughout the game, listening to feedback and applying it to their game play. This resulted in a 21-16 win and the MVP awarded to Hannah. Overall, it was a great fixture for both teams and a good building block to their netball seasons.
Well done to all who played in the first matches back after the half term break.
Lacrosse
The U15 A and B lacrosse teams travelled to Benenden School for their Tri-County tournament on Thursday. The U15A team went undefeated in the group stage, winning some competitive matches. This took the team through to the semi-final against Beneden and the team won 4-2, taking them through to the final. It was an exciting final against St Pauls Girls School with our LEH team winning overall and retaining their Tri-county title!
The U15B team battled all day, playing some great lacrosse in their group stage, reaching the final to play against Wycombe Abbey School. It was a tough final with the B team finishing as Runners Up overall, a fantastic result!
Well done to all the pupils who took part in a successful day of lacrosse.
